BERGVILLE’s attractive face-brick cottages, with their Victorian-styled gables, nestle beneath the mountains, in a quiet area of Denneoord, George. The neatness of this well-maintained Village in its garden setting immediately impresses the visitor. This is the perfect place to enjoy your retirement in the Garden Route.

New residents soon find themselves at home in our welcoming community. Our houses were designed with the needs of older people in mind; incorporating safety features such as ramps, balustrades and grab-handles; and our Hospital offers a “panic button” emergency response system.

The on-site kitchen provides meals on request, though many residents still enjoy cooking for themselves at home.

We have an active Social Group, which organizes regular events: including popular monthly Sunday lunches, and weekly Bingo games. Our dining room is also the venue for a weekly Church service, a variety of concerts, celebrations, and other events.

Our facilities include a lounge, library, fully equipped hairdressing salon and a hobbies and games room.

As Bergville is a Sectional Title Scheme, owners have title to their own cottages and Share ownership of the common property. Annually elected Trustees manage the Village on behalf of residents, assisted by staff.

Self-management has proved very successful and has done much to ensure stable finances and has fostered good community relations.
